The
Cobweb Run
Report
by Dave Simpson
A
few of us blew the cobwebs away at the end of April and had a little run out
over the north east hills to end up on the quayside at Hartlepool Maritime
Experience. It stayed fine so the roofs were dispensed with in true classic
car style, at least those of us that could, although it wasn't that
warm. And with only one "Spider" on the grid it was hard to
say just how many cobwebs were going to be blown away. We
a gentle meander over Chop Gate and it's always a pleasant ride over
there, so I hope that the few members that attended enjoyed it and kindled
some interest for bigger events later on. I thank them for turning out.
Here's a couple of pictures from the event, hope it whets your whistle for
the next run.
Alan's MGA, off to a good start (following the
arrows) The
route got harder though as the arrows soon ran out. A
further picture taken on the cobweb run, winding over local country roads
with only classics in sight, just as it should be. If you didn’t know that
the bonnet in the foreground was a 1981 Alfa Romeo this picture could have
been taken in the sixties.
Midget, leads MGB, leads Alfa Spider. Quite
a nice run out.
