The
Teesside Princess
Report
by Dave Simpson
Sunday
19th of August saw a goodly collection of club cars & crews
gather for a roundabout trip to Stockton riverside for lunch and a trip up
the Tees, note I said up the tees not in the Tees hopefully. We collected
the members from the Ravensworth area at Scotch Corner and armed with
directions around South Durham and some edited photo’s to find the
original places of, off we went.
The
route took the merry band through Pierce bridge, Bolam, Ingleton and
eventually to Stockton, where surprisingly every one arrived more or less on
time. Time for coffee in a nearby hostelry while the referee perused the
results of the quiz papers and announced the winner (not without discord
from some members who thought that it should be them), Flan & Becky were
victorious and the referee got the usual stick for so called eccentric
marking, well it wouldn’t be right without it would it ?
Time
to board the Teesside Princess and cast off to proceed down river, lunch was
served very efficiently and a very good lunch it was too, even Craig was
satisfied, albeit after seconds.
A
two-hour trip up and down the river was just enough time to enjoy a
leisurely lunch and coffee was served before we returned to the quayside.
All
in all a pleasant afternoon, which I think every one enjoyed, if you missed
it, try and get to the next event.
